Air Vice Marshal Pawan Mohey, VSM was commissioned in IAF as a Helicopter Pilot on 06 Dec 1985. The officer has done his schooling at the Air Force School, Subroto Park, New Delhi and is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. The officer is a Qualified Flying Instructor and an Instrument Rating Instructor Examiner with vast flying experience. He has around 6000 hrs of flying on various helicopters and Trainer aircraft comprising HPT-32, HJT-16, Chetak, Cheetah and Mi-17. The officer is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and Higher Defence Management Course at College of Defence Management, Secunderabad. He has also been an instructor at the prestigious National Defence Academy, Pune.
During his service career spanning over three decades, he has taken part in numerous operations and exercises viz. Op Meghdoot, Op Bajrang, Op Safed Sagar, etc. He was Flight Commander of 129 HU and commanded 141 SSS Flight. During his command, he recommended Float Operations after a gap of 10 years. He has commanded Air Force Station Thoise, the Anti-Naxal Task Force and Air Force Station New Delhi. His staff appointments have been Director Financial Planning and Budget, Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Administration and Coordination) at HQ IDS, Principal Director (Intelligence) at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan) and Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration at Eastern Air Command. Prior to assuming the present appointment, the officer held the appointment of Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration, Central Air Command.
The officer has been appointed as Commodore Commandant of 141 SSS Flt by Chief of the Air Staff on 23 Mar 17. The officer is a recipient of Vishist Seva Medal, Chief of Integrated Staff Committee Commendation, AOC-in-C Eastern Air Command Commendation and Director General CRPF Commendation.
He is married to Mrs Anuradha Mohey and the couple is blessed with a son and a daughter
